About Guttering
Guttering is a narrow trough attached to the roof of a building which is used to divert rainwater. The water from the gutter is fed to a downspout which may be attached to the side of the building or constructed into the exterior wall of the structure. The downspout can either discharge the water at the ground level or channel it to a storage medium such as a cistern or water tank.

Guttering is a very important aspect of any building as it ensures that the integrity of the structure is maintained. Over time, water retention caused from direct rainfall can significantly weaken the foundation of any structure.

Well installed, quality guttering gives you the option of diverting water into a cistern for storage. This stored water can be used for gardening, washing the car and other household purposes. These water storage techniques save you money on your utility bills and assist in water conservation which is a primary concern globally. The water diversion function of guttering also protects the beauty of your home by reducing the amount of fungus and moulds which accumulate on exterior walls.

Guttering can be fabricated from a variety or materials including plastic, cooper and aluminum.
